11/07/2006 - e-commerce focus on Joomla, codename ShimmerCoin

In the light of the forthcoming latest version of php (php6) our head team have decided to invest considerably in Joomla as the foundation for our own e-commerce software. This is a substantial new direction, but one that we believe will take Swan Shops into another league. Joomla (see http://www.joomla.org/content/view/4122/1/) is an open source Content Management System, a spin off from Mambo, and has the support of 10's of thousands of web developers worldwide. Our e-commerce site will launch as one of the first ready for php6 and Joomla 1.5 under the code name ShimmerCoin. Our Beta site will launch in Q3 2008. 18/05/2006 - Customer declares us 100% reliable

The feedback from WRVS this week is outstanding. In the 12 months since we launched their B2B ordering website, they report having experienced not a single problem, and not even a single suggestion for improvement. WRVS rebranded in 2005 and since then have bought and issued their new uniforms online, direct from their supplier using our own system run using garmentshops.com. This system is serving uniforms to volunteers and staff in over 3000 cafe's, shops, meals on wheels and other services nationally.

10/8/2004 WRVS e-procurement is launched

We have secured our first B2B customer! HR Denne, http://www.hrdenne.com/, the uniform manufacturer, plans to take orders online directly from WRVS Head Office through our own secure system. Orders in the first 12 months are expected to be a minimum £120,000, but could go up to £1.5M, as hospital projects, cafés and meals on wheels volunteers switch to the new WRVS branded clothing.
